Our Christmas Fair on Saturday 29 November was a real community effort. We’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make it such a success.

Thanks to the incredible support of volunteers, donors and everyone who came along on the day, the fair raised over £4,500 for Sheffield Mencap and Gateway. This money will go directly towards supporting the continued running of our Gateway social group, which plays a vital role in reducing isolation for adults with a learning disability or autism.

The fair was a fantastic and fun-filled day enjoyed by hundreds of visitors. Highlights included the ‘gingerbread house’ Santa’s grotto created by our art group and the Loxley Silver Brass Band, who added a brilliant atmosphere to the event with their Christmas classics.

Our craft fair was another highlight, featuring beautiful gifts handmade by our members. Visitors enjoyed delicious hot food and a cake stall filled with homemade treats. Plus plenty of crafts, activities, games and a bouncy castle to keep children entertained! All of this was made possible by our volunteers and we’re hugely grateful to everyone who gave their time and energy to make the day so special.

Events like this don’t happen without a lot of planning, teamwork and goodwill, and we’re so thankful to everyone who played a part – whether you helped plan the fair, volunteered on the day, donated items, or came along to support us.

Thank you all and Merry Christmas!
