Mencap Go is our programme of evening and weekend groups for adults with a learning disability or autism. The groups are a pathway to community life, new friendships and greater independence.

Mencap Go groups take place in different venues across Sheffield and the surrounding area, from the cinema to bowling and walks in the Peak District. Members build social connections, discover new places, and become part of their wider community.

Every group is built around the people who take part. Activities are fun, inclusive, and designed to help each member progress at their own pace. We work closely with families/carers to provide the right level of support, every step of the way.

Through Mencap Go, members are supported to:

• Build confidence

Sheffield Mencap and Gateway has supported the local learning disability community for over 70 years. Our experience means carers can take a few hours of valuable respite, knowing their loved one is happy, safe and supported.
