George's story

George talked with the Sheffield Telegraph about is life and what he enjoys about coming to Sheffield Mencap.

In the decade since he first attended Norfolk Lodge, George has come on leaps and bounds. He used to be driven to the door by volunteers, but now he travels alone from his house in Hillsborough.

"I've learned how to use the tram and I love catching it and coming here", he explains.

"I really like gardening and making craft cards too"

George comes every week to Gateway, the evening social club where he can dance or talk about music or days out, or just relax in the coffee lounge with his friends.
